Dead Woood

Dead wood needs to be removed from your roses!

I have had a lot of people ask me if it is important or necessary to remove dead wood from their roses. And there is only one answer to that question and it is YES!

Any dead branches should be removed to prevent certain pests or pathogens entering the plant and causing more damage to your roses.

Removing dead wood or diseased wood will help to keep your plants healthy and you will soon see new growth appearing.

But before you run outside with your pruning tools or scissors, call an expert to come and do it so that you can prevent the rose from dying. If dead wood isn’t cut off the right way you could destroy your rose.

If it is brown, it is dead and there is a special way to cut back the dead wood to ensure that diseases aren’t spread. If the dead wood is cut back wrong, the rose bush or plant could die completely.

Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that the plant will survive after cut back.

JGS Roses will do the best that can be done and that is to trim back the dead wood to see if there is any chance of it coming back. He will cut back to the green…

Any diseased or dead foliage and branches need to be removed. John will be honest with you when he cuts back the dead wood. He will tell you the reason why he has done it.

The service that JGS Roses provides includes caring and checking up on your roses.
